The European Commission has issued Regulation No. 301/2014 to impose hexavalent chromium content restrictions on leather products that are produced or imported in the EU that are in direct contact with the skin. Leather articles and leather-containing parts that are in contact with the skin shall not be placed in the EU market if the hexavalent c
hromium concentration exceeds 3 mg/kg.
