OUR LEATHER
At Motherhouse, we believe that these imperfections contribute to our product's rich and unique story.We use natural, full grain cow leather from Bangladesh, for its strength and durability, in our bags and small leather goods. Since full grain leather is the most natural layer of a cow's hide, it comes with natural scratches and marks resulting from innate animal activities such as rubbing against fences and insect bites. However, such scratches and marks do not impact the durability of leather in any form.

OUR JUTE
Known as the "golden thread", JUTE is a specialty hemp of Bangladesh and is an environmentally-friendly material that absorbs 5 to 6 times more carbon dioxide than cotton during its growth.We spent years of trial & error to perfect a recipe for the highest quality Jute fabric -suitable for the production of bags.Despite the long process, being able to offer you bags with a rustic, gentle touch made from the natural texture of Jute makes everything worth it.

OUR GEMSTONES
Our gemstones are sourced directly from Sri Lanka, Indonesia and Myanmar. Sri Lanka, known as "the country that glitters", is abundant with sapphires and a myriad of other gemstones. There, we work with local craftsmen to mine, cut and craft our pieces.We also source our 10K and 18K gold directly from Indonesia, and our gold jewelry are handcrafted by local Indonesia craftsmen using the traditional Filigree technique.

Our scarves and stoles are handwoven in Nepal, made from a variety of Nepalese-derived materials including silk, wool, cashmere, linen and cotton.To achieve the perfect hue, we incorporated natural Nepalese plant dyes in our manufacturing process.
